The JDS Uniphase bias-free line of modulators is designed for use in systems without bias control circuits, reducing board complexity and releasing valuable board space. These modulators are ideal for medium and long-haul applications in TDM or DWDM transmission systems, but can be used in
short reach applications (e.g. mesh topography), when flexibility is key for your architecture. Biasfree miniature modulators are available for both the C and L bands.
As the optical layer extends into the metropolitan and enterprise area, board real estate will be reduced and the component functionality requirements increase. We have addressed this by decreasing the footprint by 70 %.
